My son has hypoglycemia

My son has hypoglycemia. Our doctor placed him on a higher protein diet as many have suggested here. But it was not enough to give just the higher proteins because he couldn't break them down.

When we added in Betaine it did the trick. Betaine is a digestive enzyme that breaks down proteins in meats .It helped him greatly. We buy ours from New Beginning Nutritionals. there it is called DiZorb. (betaine is the main ingredient) My son only needs it when he has higher protein meals . particularly things like bacon, sausage, eggs etc. Thanks to Betaine he can now enjoy these foods again. Many of them we had to totally remove in years past and it only added to his hypoglycemia issues.

We still limit eggs greatly as he is intollerant of them and they can cause other issues.
